The Prado

 Well I went to the Prado for my birthday even though its not my birthday till friday andthis is my free dessert.It is a cream cheese flan and they changed the way it looks. it used to have real flowers on it that you can eat and now it has fruit. I think the chef doesnt want the menu to be boring being the same. yum it was good.

 This is chef Jonathan and he came to our table to meet me.

and then he took me to see the kitchen and that was really cool

real German pretzels

 Here I am mixing the pre dough. The recipe is in German measurements so my mom had to change it.

 Here I am kneading the dough. It was kinda hard to do.

 I made different shapes out of the dough but mostly pretzel shapes.

 This is real poison and it is the secret ingredient for the german pretzels. You have to wear gloves and my mom did that part. She dipped the pretzels in the poison which is actually "lye" and water.

 You have to put tin foil on your pan or the chemical will ruin it.

 Here is the poison that is the pretzel wash. My mom did that part. The wash makes the pretzel very shiny and crisp like a german pretzel.

 And here is my final product. Yummy.

late night simple dark chocolate tart

ok its like 9:00 and thats a simple dark chocolate tart and thats Miss Julie's resipe from camp last summer. Mom said lets put hazelnuts in the crust and that was a good idea. It was REALLY good with vanilla icecream. Now I'm going to bed.

honeycomb pan

 This is a realy cool pan and its called a pull apart pan that looks like a honeycomb.

We made lemon pound cake in it and made a lemon glaze. You can't really see the pictures of bees on there.

Arizona Brittle

 Well there was some Arizona brittle in the hotel when we got there and it was really good and my mom said she would try to copy it and she did. This is a lable she made with my name so we can give some away.

Prickly Pear Cactus Cookies

 So we went to arizona and got some prickley pear cactus jelly. My brother got this cookie cutter for mom.

ok well i didnt make these because i didnt have enough time because i was on the compter. My mom made a realy good glaze for the cookies with the jelly. Yum.
